Voicemail recordings not working Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Post Report Post to a Moderator       IP Information Go to the top of this page

I am trying to put voicemail recordings (OGM - outgoing message) onto two extensions but for some reason they don't play.

I've logged into the admin, clicked sound recordings, entered the extension, then dialled *77 from the extension and recorded the message. *99 verifies the message, I then name the message and save.

However, when a call comes in and the extension is not answered, the OGM I recorded does not get played. Instead the default PBX message is played.

This is happening on both extensions I've tried this on. Now when I dial *99 to verify the OGM I just get an engaged tone.
What am I doing wrong? I've tried restarting the PBX by doing "submit & start" but it made no difference.

I believe recording the OGM is best achieved by accessing the VoiceMail IVR via either *97 or *98.

Thanks for the quick reply Diafora.

I'll give that a try. Problem is one of the extensions doesn't have a phone connected to it. It is used purely to leave messages on for a remote worker.

Is there a way the a single OGM message can be copied to a number of extensions rather than having to record each one individually?

This question has already been answered in the FAQ. There is no other way.

OK thanks.

So I need to connect a phone to that extension just to record the OGM?

What is the voicemail recording option under Sound Recordings intended for? It doesn't seem to work.

By using *98 you can record your message from any phone.

Menu option System Recordings can be used in conjunction with Queues and Digital Receptionists.
