Two questions Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Post Report Post to a Moderator       IP Information Go to the top of this page

Ok,

I must be stupid or blind, but I am at a loss. I keep seeing references to the "help" page that supposedly explains how to use the web interface to check voice-mails. Alas, I can't find that elusive "help" page.

Secondly, is there a way to STOP the v-mail system from ringing the extension every once-in-a-while when v-mail is present? My wife is about to strangle me for the phone half-ringing at 02:00 in the morning for a few seconds, then stopping....

Thx

You are neither crazy nor stupid. The support forum has grown considerably, and it is increasingly difficult to find answers to all your questions. That is why we need everyone's help to start documenting the WiKi, with all the resolved cases in the Forums.

On to answering your questions now.

In order to check the VoiceMail of a particular extension, log out of your PBXes account and then log in to the extension's account. For username use asgaard-ext# and for password use the VoiceMail PIN of the extension. You will then be able to see a list of every VoiceMail with its' time-stamp for that particular extension, along with links to play or download the messages.

Regarding the second issue, it all depends on the ATA/phone handset combination you are using. The technical term for it is MWI (Message Waiting Indicator) and I am pretty sure your ATA has set this to ON, while the phone connected to it does not support (or your ATA is not setup to send) a VMWI (Visual Message Waiting Indicator) signal to blink a light on the phone. Hence the MWI is an audible half-ring.

Let us know what kind of ATA and phone handset you have, and we might be able to help you turn it off.
