The N95 (and other Nokia E series phones with VOIP support) can be configured to use iLBC (or G.729) codec via SMS provisioning. You need to create XML according to the templates w9010.txt and w9013.txt with only iLBC or G.729 enabled. The templates can be downloaded from nokia:
Send the XML to your your phone using the trial software at nowsms.com. This creates a new SIP account setting with iLBC.
I've managed to configure all my VOIP providers to the iLBC codec on the N95, but pbxes still rejects it.
I can post the XML I created to provision Nokia E/N series phones to use iLBC or G.729 codecs if anybody needs it.
In any case, pbxes doesn't work with the iLBC codec with x-lite, which is far simpler to select a codec. if I use another codec in x-lite, G.711 for example, it works ok.
Hi mcrlocums,
I've read your post and also try to ask for paid help at PBXes support but after 2 week no answer. Can you please help me with the iLBC codec on Nokia N95 and E61i?
I need to make the xml doc to set thet codec as default, do you still have the xml doc to post?
Thanks in advance for your help
regards,
Tommaso
