Unknown 9 hour calls Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Post Report Post to a Moderator       IP Information Go to the top of this page

We have today a couple of calls with the description "hangup" showing duration of 9 hours!!!!

This has pushed us over our 5000 mins monthly usage - yet we still seem to be able to use pbxes.

What is happening? To the best of my knowledge nobody has made any 9 hour calls and the number from which the calls were supposed to have originated from does not look like a genuine telephone number.

Please explain.

Thanks
Mike

This is not a bug. The reason is that you have overwritten the "i" and "t" destinations of your Digital Receptionist leading to an endless loop.

ok - I am not sure I understand what you mean. I have just looked at our Dig rec and, as far as I can see, we have them set up so that if you dial nothing or dial something which is not a menu option, it plays you the menu choices again.

Is this not right? Or is this exactly what you mean?

How would you suggest we achieve the same result correctly?

Also I tried to update to another subscription since either way we are likely to exceed our 5000 mins per month. However I have just been notified that my paypal has been refunded??? Why is this?

Thanks

Mike

You should not define these options if you just want to repeat the menu. This is what the built-in default does for you while counting to a number of maximum retries. If you redirect to the menu by yourself you bypass this counter.

Thanks - I was not aware that the system automatically retried - I have amended our configuration accordingly.

Thanks for your help.
Mike
