Speeddial feature has already been mentioned among few others, but here I would like to concentrate on it, specifically.
Full speeddial functionality can be described as ability to define a numeric shortcut which would be translated by the system to full SIP URI or PSTN number.
Currently it's is doable using extensions. Extensions, however, are highly limited resource designed to support SIP Agents, and should not be wasted for such a simple thing as merely a dialing shortcut.
Why wouldn't PBXes separate these two concepts and allow to define speeddials as... speeddials, and leave extensions as what they are supposed to be - "sockets" for SIP Agents.
Alternative solution could be to exempt the extensions used for speeddial from being counted for extensions limit - after all unlike "real" extensions speeddials don't consume resources.
