Thread: RE: Dropping out of conferences |

We get repeated problems with people dropping out of conferences and having to call back in again.
Is there any way to resolve this?
Thanks

Thanks Ron
I can't say I quite understand your 2nd string for selecting the number being dialed but it works and does exactly what I need.
Thanks again.

Thread: RE: Dialing rules |

Hi
Can anybody help?
I am trying to set up pbxes so that if anybody dials from a certain extension and dials a number starting with a single 0 followed by another number from 1 to 9 inclusive, it will strip out the first zero and replace it with 0049 (Germany international code).
Where/ how do I set this up? I see there are dialing plan boxes in both "trunks" and "outbound routing". I first tried to set it up in "outbound routing" but if I put anything in the dialing plan box, it erases the rules above and therefore does not put the call through this routing.
Thanks

Thread: RE: www5 problems ? |

I too worked out how to shift to www1 manually and it gave me a status. However I thought this was supposed to happen automatically?
Also have tried to have a conference call this afternoon and the quality has been bad. Lots of callers being cut off - loud hissing noises, lots of echo etc
What is going on? This normally works well for us

I cannot access status. It tells me to try relogging-in and if not submit and start. Neither has any effect. I cannot submit and start - it just goes back to same message.
Also all of our sip extensions are unreachable - give engaged tone.
What can be done to fix this now? It is causing us real problems.
Thank you

Thread: Changing credit card |
|
Hi
Have just had to change my credit card on paypal because the old one was lost. Paypal says that my subsciption to Iptel has now been cancelled. How do I reactivate this to ensure continuous service?
My last month's subscription went through ok at the beginning of November before my previous credit card was lost.
Thanks

Thread: RE: PBxes not working |

Sorry for the delay in replying. We have been using the backup method I described for the last few weeks (ie routing the Voxbone numbers indirectly to pbxes through another voip provider).
However I checked this morning and for some reason the problem is now resolved. We can now route voxbone numbers directly to pbxes as we have been doing for the last year or so.
Evidently the problem has resolved itself as mysteriously as it first appeared.
I cannot explain more - obviously something has been changed but I do not know what.

Thread: RE: PBxes not working |

Around lunchtime today (European time) all did.s which we have from external provider, Voxbone, ceased to be answered by pbxes. They route correctly to other sip addresses (I changed some to check) but not to pbxes - so there is nothing wrong with Voxbone. Up to this point everything was working perfectly. Nothing has changed but now none of these work.
Just to clarify. Previously we routed the voxbone did.s to pbxes by creating an inbound route on pbxes (metokote-100) and entering this in voxbone (sip:metokote-100@pbxes.org). This has been working fine for months (until yesterday). As a temporary measure we have routed the voxbone numbers to a a Voipcheap trunk which we have set up in Pbxes. This is still working fine.
Can you please check what has happened and resolve urgently.
Thanks
Mike

Thread: RE: One way audio |
|
Calls between Nokias connected on different internet connections seem to work fine.
It is not just one router it is happening with - so far we have tested in 3 different locations - and it is happening in each one. All three locations have different internet connections and different model routers. No changes have been made to any of them since it worked ok.

Thread: RE: One way audio |

Hi
We have been using pbxes with a mixture of Linksys SPA941 wired desk phones and wireless Nokia E90 mobiles for a number of months with no problems - across multiple sites and multiple internet connections in multiple countries
However over the last couple of weeks we have seen the following problems with the Nokias (Linksys' seem unaffected) -
1. Either no audio being heard by either party or one hearing and the other not
2. Failure of external switchboards to recognise the tones generated by the phone - eg when typing in the number of a switchboard
This problem only affects the Nokia.s and happens frequently if you are calling another Nokia connected to the same internet connection. It happens around 50% of the time if you are calling an external number.
We are using different routers on different sites - all of the ones we have tested exhibit same issues. We are also using different internet providers and different trunk providers - again same problem with all of them.
We have made no changes to the Nokias, the routers, or any part of the configuration between the time it was working fine and now when it is not.
Therefore - what has changed in pbxes in the last few weeks to explain this problem? We believe we have ruled out everything else.
Thanks

Thread: RE: Conference security |
|
Hi
Is it possible to ask people entering a conference room to enter a security code before they are granted access - as is the case on many other conferencing services?
I am a bit concerned that anybody who phones in to our pbxes account could conceivably enter an ongoing conference - provided they know the number of the conference room.
Is this a feature which exists or could be added?
Another thing which people have asked for is whether there could be some kind of indication (like a beep or something) when somebody enters a conference room.
Thanks

Thread: RE: Proxy |

Hello again
So i should set each phone to a different port. What port ranges are available for SIP with PBXes..
Should i forward the ports also?
Thanks

|
Thread: RE: Proxy |

Thanks for that. The reason I ask is because, although our phones work ok for most of the time, some of them become unregistered from time to time - we want to make sure that we are connecting to the best location.
Is pbxes.org sufficient? Is that the best thing to put in the box?

Thread: RE: Proxy |
|
Hi
On our Linksys SPA941.s it asks for a proxy and also gives the opportunity (if desired) to use a separate outbound proxy.
1. What proxy address should we put in the "proxy" field?
2. Is it necessary to use a separate outbound proxy? If yes, what address should we put in for outbound proxy?
Thanks

Thread: RE: Mobile option disappeared |
|
In order to allow use of all codecs - particularly G729, you have to make sure that the mobile option on each extension is unchecked. I have just converted one of our extensions to use G729 and find on pbxes that the mobile check box has disappeared. So I cannot make or receive calls on this extension.
How do I make the extension work on G729 without unticking this "mobile" option? Previously the extension had the option ticked.
Thanks
.... it is now 25 mins later and the phone has started working - so I guess somebody did something to fix it
Thanks

Thanks for your help.

Thread: RE: Calls not ending |

I just did a "submit and start" which cleared the extensions which were still showing as being on calls. Is this what you meant? Does this mean that the issue is now fixed permanently and won't happen again?
Thanks

Thread: RE: Calls not ending |
|
Hi
We have a problem sometimes when (according to the status display) extensions are not disconnecting when a call is finished. The system still thinks they are on a call even when they are not. The extensions in question can still make calls - but cannot receive them - since the system thinks they are on a call. This seems to happen particularly often with conferences - the conference room stays "open" long after everyone has left.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Thread: RE: G729 and Audio Bypass |
|
We use Nokia E90.s - which have an option to use codec G729. I checked with my trunk provider and they do support G729. However when I select G729 as the codec on my Nokia and try and make a call through pbxes I get the message -
"unable to create internet call. Recipient has active call barrings"
I get the same message if I try and use iLBC codec.
(I have activated G729 passthru and also audio bypass on my extension and the relevant trunk).
I tried connecting directly to my trunk provider (voiptalk.co.uk) without pbxes and G729 works perfectly so presumably it is not a problem with the Nokia E90. So I am guessing that I need full G729 support on Pbxes for it to work?. Am I on the right track here or have I completely misunderstood?
OK - have now gone for 10 channels full G729 support - should I see something different on my pbxes screen or does it just work? Or does it take a while for the system to be updated?
Thanks
