Custom realm Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Post Report Post to a Moderator       IP Information Go to the top of this page

Hi,

Is there any way to override the realm used for registration? e.g.

User: user
Realm: example.com
SIP server: someprovider.com

I've tried user@example.com for the username, but it doesn't work. Specifying the realm in a SIP client works, though.

Thanks!

Just to clarify the request, are you looking for a setting on the trunk configuration, which customizes the realm for registration purposes to something other than pbxes.org?

No, not really. I just want to register with a SIP provider using an account that requires a realm/domain different from the provider's SIP server's FQDN.

On the other hand, it would be nice to be able to receive SIP calls via a custom domain, expecially for resellers. Does PBXes have this facility, i.e. support _sip._udp SRV DNS records?

look at this thread for srv records.

As far as I know the srv record has to be set at the domain registrar, for example godaady does allow this, but others might nog do this.

How pbxes handles it I don't know. I have asked the question but did not get an answer yet.
