SIPDISCOUNT Fair Use Policy Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Post Report Post to a Moderator       IP Information Go to the top of this page

Hi
I ue SipDiscount for outbound calls but am getting charged for minutes even though I have not exceeded their fair use policy of 300 minutes per (rolling) 7 day period per UNIQUE IP address.
I read on this blog
http://www.goebel.net/technews/2008/02/b...read-terms.html
That PBXes may be presenting a single IP for multiple accounts using sipDiscount trunks.
Is this so? If it is how can I get PBXes to ensure I do not share my free minutes with other PBXes accounts using SipDiscount trunks on a common IP?

Have a read here http://www1.pbxes.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=1341&sid=

It looks like Betamax can't be bothered to fix it. Mainly because it will cost them money I guess

Well, you can also lobby Betamax to change their policy, since there is a way to identify individual IPs even through PBXes.

So far PBXes has done whatever was possible on its' part to facilitate this for its' users. But Betamax refuses to play ball.

Thanks for the links, they make interesting reading. It seems that voxalot users are not loosing their FUP minutes mysteriously.
I think I will try the line of least resistance approach. I have signed up with voxalot for a free account and registered a sipdiscount trunk with them. I then registered my voxalot account here at pbxes. Everything seems to work and I can make calls so I must just wait a few days to see if I have reclaimed my errant minutes. I will report back.

Thanks for the help.

Voxalot is FUP free only for US and AU servers, the EU server seems to have FUP issues with Betamax. Registering Voxalot at PBXes works for calls to North America and you won’t get FUP, but it doesn’t work for other destinations; I am charged for free calls to some European land lines.
