Does Audio bypass between extensions improve call quality? 20.08.2014 13:07 Forum: Miscellaneous

Would enabling audio bypass improve the call quality between extensions located in different countries.

I have extensions in the US, Europe and South Africa and some times the calls between extensions break up or have a delay so was wondering if enabling the audio bypass on these extensions would improve that. I currently use the pbx server in NY.

Account change from Premium to Soho plus Paypal change 11.02.2014 15:17 Forum: Miscellaneous

I've just cancelled my subscription for my premium account (don't need the call centre functionality) and started a soho account. At the same time I switched to a different Paypal account for my soho account billing.

When I clicked the unsubscribe button for my premium account it went to my paypal account and I got this message
"The unsubscribe button you clicked is invalid. You can find the status of all subscriptions in 'My preapproved payments'."
So I cancelled the subscription from within my paypal account.

I then clicked the subscribe link for a soho account and set it up with my new paypal account.

When logging into my pbx account I now see that I'm subscribed to 1 premium account and 1 soho account. Is there a delay until the cancellation reaches your system and gets sorted out or is there something else I need to do?

I only require the soho account.
Thanks.

Thanks. I'll see how it works over the next few days. It wasn't only my extension that had the clipped VM announcements but let's see if your change solves the problem.

Voicemail announcements not played from beginning 31.12.2013 17:49 Forum: Queues, Digital Receptionist, Faxmail, Voicemail and Ring Groups

When I call my voicemail the announcement starts in the middle of a sentence, e.g. ...ave 2 new messages. The same happens when a caller calls a busy extension (e.g. ext 205) and the call gets passed to VM. They hear "...05 is on the phone".

I don't know if this is related but often when we make calls we don't hear the ring tone. Just silence and then the call is answered.

Any ideas why this is happening? It's been doing it for some time now and I've finally decided to try get it sorted.

RE: Help - Any way to undelete a outbound route? 17.12.2013 21:32 Forum: Miscellaneous

Thanks. Due to time constraints I had to restore the old back-up and try retrace all the changes I had made since to get the route open.

It's a lesson for me to create a backup after each config change I make.

Thanks for the offer.

RE: Help - Any way to undelete a outbound route? 17.12.2013 18:44 Forum: Miscellaneous

Ah, thanks. I completely forgot about that. My backup is quite old though.

Do you know if the restore is a complete blanket restore or can you choose which options to restore? If it's a blanket restore then it wouldn't help that much as it overwrite all my settings since the backup.
Also, how many backup versions are kept? Does each backup overwrite the previous once.

So back to my original question. Is there any way to recover the deleted route? Has the physical deletion already occurred even though I didn't click the red bar to apply it?

Help - Any way to undelete a outbound route? 17.12.2013 18:16 Forum: Miscellaneous

I accidentally deleted one of my outbound (International) routes. I haven't clicked on the red bar yet to apply the change so am hoping it can be recovered. Is there any way to recover the deleted route? I had a long list of dial rules that I built over time and would hate to lose them.

It may be a nice feature to add a backup / restore facility for the paying customers.

RE: Unable to receive calls, even from other extensions. 05.04.2013 09:14 Forum: Terminal Equipment

Thanks for the reply. The thing is I haven't made any changes to the equipment so can't understand how it has become misconfigured. I set it up 2 years ago and it just worked since then.

I've checked all the settings and they all look fine. The equipment I'm using is a Thompson TG784 ADSL router that also has 2 phone ports. It doesn't have much configuration options on the phone side. It registers fine with PBXes and the two extensions are both able to make outgoing calls without problem. Only incoming calls are affected. Doesn't the fact that it is registering and making outbound calls mean it's correctly configured? There is no ability to configure anything detailed other than the server, proxy, ports and extension usernames and passwords.

When you say "SIP response 404 to standard invite" is the response from my phone do you mean in this case the Thompson router? What is actually happening? If the extension is registered and is able to make outgoing calls why does it give a 404 response?

I'm just trying to understand why after years of working it's now giving problems.

traurig Unable to receive calls, even from other extensions. 01.04.2013 18:36 Forum: Terminal Equipment

We've been experiencing a strange problem over the last week or so. Any inbound calls whether from outside or from another extension don't ring the extension. Instead the call goes to voicemail.

I've changed nothing in the settings for a long time but I checked any way to see if anything changed and it all looks fine. The ringgroup is set to ring the extensions and only go to voicemail after 30s. Looking at the logs there are a couple of things that don't look right. I've pasted a snippet of the log which I think may help. This was extension 202 calling extension 201 both extensions are registered to the same PBXes account. Also when making the call there was no ringtone heard in extension 202 it was just silent for 30s then the voicemail came on.

I've tried switching to another server (www3), I've tried rebooting my router, I've power cycled the handsets, I've recreated my extensions but nothing seems to be working.

Can anyone shed some light on this please? It's becoming a problem not being able to receive calls now.

EDIT: If you need the full log I can e-mail that.

RE: Invoicing ? 05.09.2012 16:19 Forum: Miscellaneous

I'd like invoices too. We are in the UK. At the moment I specifically need the invoices for 1/1/2011 to 31/12/2011 to complete the filing of our accounts. Paypal receipts are not really enough. If you would like to discuss this with me please e-mail directly.

Can I make a suggestion? Why not have the account billing details available to your subscribers available online? We can then login to see our billing history and print any invoices required. This is how most other businesses selling online services operate.

How to exclude an extension from making outside calls? 20.09.2011 15:30 Forum: Miscellaneous

How can I set up an extension to only make internal (extension to extension calls) and block all calls to the outside?

I see that you can enter extensions Extension field in the outbound routing setup but that means I'd have to enter all the permitted extensions to all the outbound routes which would not be a very practical way of doing it. Is there an easier way?

Haven't tried the inbound yet. Will try everything again next week.

Thanks for the help so far.

Ring back - why is it capped at 3 max and is it possible for more? 20.05.2011 06:45 Forum: Queues, Digital Receptionist, Faxmail, Voicemail and Ring Groups

I'm trying to set up ring backs from to various mobile numbers but after I've set up three I am not able to add any more. It says a max of 3 allowed. Is there a reason for this and is it possible to have the max raised to 5?

My reason is I travel quite a bit and have sim cards for each country so I would like to have pbxes ring back on those cards when I call in.

RE: Calling and receiving calls from external sip addresses 20.05.2011 06:39 Forum: Miscellaneous

Ok, I'm not sure I follow you 100%.

For the inbound call I have set up an inbound route as follows:
Under Edit Incoming Route heading:
Trunk: cyberdude-201
Under Set Destination heading:
Extension: set to 201
Everything else left blank or as default. Is that correct?

For the outbound call I have:
Created a new extension, added a display name and entered 60@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx in the sip uri field.
So you (and the thread you linked to) are saying that 60@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx will not work as it must be in fqdn format, i.e. 60@somedomain.com.

Thanks for replying. I tried as you suggested but I get a message saying "The number you have dialled is not in service. Please check the number and try again." So I'm not sure if this is because the route is being blocked by their NAT (although they say SIP and RTP is forwarded through) or if something else is blocking it.

Would it be useful if I ran a sip trace?

EDIT: What URI should I give them so they can call me?

EDIT RE: Calling and receiving calls from external sip addresses 12.05.2011 11:49 Forum: Miscellaneous

OK, I have some information back.

The PBX they are running is AsteriskNOW, it is behind a NAT Router but the ports for SIP/RTP are forwarded through. They say I should be able to call them on sip:99@81.174.999.999. (I've masked some of the numbers with 9s)

I would really appreciate if you could explain how I can make calls to that uri from our pbxes account and how they can call us. We are using DECT phones connected to voip ports on a Draytek Vigor router if that makes any difference.

EDIT: Anyone able to help with this please? Diafora, was the information I provided useful?
