Extensions in USA and Europe ... 13.02.2014 21:14 Forum: PBXes PRO

I need to deploy some new VoIP phones into our conference rooms in New York and San Francsico. We currently only have VoIP here in Berlin.

I am using Skype SIP trunks which seem to reduce latency by the virtue of anycast but I'm worried about the latency involved in having a client in San Francisco connecting to www1 and then dialling back into the US locally.

Is there any way to have US clients connect to a US server and European clients connect only to the Euro servers or am I looking at having to have two separate accounts ?

Thanks,
Mike.

Excellent! This seems to have fixed it. I haven't seen the trunks drop out at all since you made the change.

Appreciate your help and fast response.

Thanks,
Mike.

Skype Trunks frequently dropping and timing out reconnecting ... 03.01.2014 10:55 Forum: News

Hi Folks,

Not sure if anyone else has seen the same issue but I'm having frequent issues with my Skype Connect SIP trunks dropping and timing out to reconnect.

This happens multiple times an hour and I'm not sure where the problem could be. At the time that the trunks fail to connect here in our PBXES account, I can connect to them from our office via a SIP client without any issues.

It would seem that this is some sort of network issue perhaps?

Here are some logs;

There is nothing in the logs about the actual connection dropping, just the reconnect attempts.

There are no settings to change on the Skype side other than the credentials used to connect.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mike.
