RE: Different receptionist for different DID's 02.01.2013 22:29 Forum: Queues, Digital Receptionist, Faxmail, Voicemail and Ring Groups

I asked Callcentric if it was possible and they responded:

"What you can try would be to perform DID-based routing (http://www.callcentric.com/support/device/did_trixbox) or (http://www.callcentric.com/support/device/did_routing). Depending on which Asterisk variant is being used, you may use our DID-based routing guides to assist you in routing your calls based on the DID which was called."

Yeah, let me know. I've tried it before, and I didn't think it worked.
I'll try again when I get to work.

Thanks. smile

Dang it.
Well, that's alright, I can just order a new DID and make a new account for each DID via Callcentric.
It's messy, but it'll work.

Call Recording (On-Demand) 19.12.2012 01:04 Forum: Feature Requests

Using call recording on-demand, only activates the recording for one side of the conversation. While if I set it to ALWAYS Record, then it records both sides. Also, I'm guessing dialing *1 a second time after the recording has been initiated, it would cease recording, correct?

Lastly, is there any way to set up these recordings to go to an email or anything, I think throwing them into "Call Monitor" is a bit archaic, and cumbersome to retrieve.

I'm looking to do the same thing, have different receptions for each number. Is this possible; even if all the numbers are on the same trunk (in my case, Callcentric)?

I couldn't find a way to "intercept" the DIDs like you mentioned.

Any help you can give me would be super cool.

Thank you smile.

Yeah, that would work just fine; still messier than the alternative. But it'll do. I'll come up with a naming mechanism to make it make sense.

Thanks for your help. I never really saw the call forking option.

G729 Caveats? 10.12.2012 19:21 Forum: Miscellaneous

So, I bought the G729 Transcoding option, and it said something about only having one simultaneous call going while using the G729 Protocol. What exactly does that mean, I can't put people on hold and take another call? Or does that just mean the second call will be a different codec while the on hold call will still be G729? Also, does that apply to the PBX as a whole (the one stream limitation), or does that apply to just the extension using the G729 codec?

Thank you smile.

Yeah, from what I've read, it's what is "supposed" to happen on a lot of Asterisk-based PBXs, but I believe, if programmed, you could log into the same extension on multiple phones. I think FreePBX has this feature, and a few proprietary ones do as well.

I simply wasn't sure if it was was possible to somehow enable this behavior on PBXes, so I figured I'd ask around as it would be a very helpful feature, really.

Multiple Phones/Devices on one single extension? 10.12.2012 07:30 Forum: Miscellaneous

Is this possible with PBXes?
I know, technically, it's possible on others. But after trying it on here, it seems to just switch to the latest device registered with it. I can think of a couple cool uses for the feature, but I'm guessing its not implemented here? Just thought I'd ask in case I was missing something.

Thanks. smile

Multiple Incoming Phone Numbers 09.12.2012 01:55 Forum: Miscellaneous

I have two DID numbers with Callcentric. I want to Inbound Route these two numbers to different extensions. Is that not possible? Does Callcentric not differentiate between what number is being dialed in to it's service? Or am I missing something?

(Ignore the G729 comment in the subject, I separated that question into a different thread)

Thanks :).
