All three extensions are identical Linksys SPA941 IP Phones. All were were working fine until one Monday after the office had been closed for the weekend when it was found that two had stopped functioning and show up as unregistered (greyed out) on the control panel. I've not been able to get them to register.

Unfortunately the person who originally set up the system is no longer able to assist and left no documentation.

Zitat:
What was entered in their SIP Proxy (or Registrar) field? The IP address or the FQDN of the www5 server?

No idea until I can get at them again on Monda, but nothing on them altered between them working reliably for months and then stopping working. All 3 were set up at the same time over a year ago and have worked reliably until now.

Thanks for your help.

Tried that immediately, both different browser and different machines. After about an hour or so we could access the control panel again (ww5) but the extensions which won't register are still not registering (they were registered but stopped working by themselves - we didn't change anything before they stopped working either smile

Extensions not working and can't access control panel 07.08.2009 12:21 Forum: Bugs

Two extensions stopped working recently, changed server to see if that cured it, it didn't, changed back to London (Paris) server and now can't access control panel or make outgoing calls on any extensions. Trying to access CP the browser is jusr cycling between ww1 and www5. Incoming calls now appear to have failed as well.

Hi
The link to wiki in the left hand menu is invalid, it is using http://www1.pbxes.com/community_e.php?display=wiki instead of http://www1.pbxes.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

Why not, when that appears to be the SIP standard?

A couple of ways to do this:

Route each DID to its own call ring group (or call queue).

In the ring group or call queue define "CID Name prefix" to be whatever you want (it can be text) say "ABC" or "XYZ"

Every extension can be in all the ring groups or call queues.

ABC or XYZ will then be shown before the number calling. So the CID shown will be "XYX 7836249896" etc

Another option you can do is, if you use Call Queue, to set an "agent announcement" which says the company name when the agent answers the call - so the agent announcement can say "This is a call for XYZ company please answer in their name"

I have had some further clairification on this.

According to RFC3261

Zitat:
8.2.2.1 To and Request-URI
The To header field identifies the original recipient of the request
designated by the user identified in the From field. The original
recipient may or may not be the UAS processing the request, due to
call forwarding or other proxy operations.

So, for various reasons, the "To" field may well not be the ultimate destination (ie may not show the pbxes.com account)

Zitat:

it is
RECOMMENDED that a UAS accept requests even if they do not recognize
the URI scheme (for example, a tel: URI) in the To header field, or
if the To header field does not address a known or current user of
this UAS.

In other words, that you should determine the destination account from the INVITE field, and not the TO field.

This would then solve the problem for us (and I suspect for many other users who want to use third party DIDs!)

To update this, and hopefully help others, all the above seem perfectly valid destinations when calling from a fwd.pulver account..

gadgets@ and gadgets-100@ both go to the default route, and as gadgets-new had been setup as a seperate incoming route it was routed as defined there.

They still dont work when accessing from my gradwell account, I have asked gradwell to confirm but perhaps someone at i-p-tel could clarify some potential reasons it may not be working?

thanks and regards,

24.07.2007 00:19 Forum: Miscellaneous

I am trying to assign an additional DID number to my pbxes account.

I have tried directing my DID number to:

sip:gadgets@www5.pbxes.com
sip:gadgets@88.191.27.122
sip:gadgets@pbxes.org

and direct extensions:

sip:gadgets-100@www5.pbxes.com
sip:gadgets-100@88.191.27.122
sip:gadgets-100@pbxes.org

and also created an inbound route called gadgets-new and tried assigning the DID number to:

sip:gadgets-new@www5.pbxes.com
sip:gadgets-new@88.191.27.122
sip:gadgets-new@pbxes.org

None of the calls get through, and my DID provider (Gradwell) says that they pbxes responds "not found"..

I asked this elsewhere and was promptly directed to this thread, but despite reading it and other threads through many times, I can't see any clarification of what will actually work !

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated,

Thanks in advance,

XML Status 23.07.2007 17:14 Forum: Feature Requests

Would be great to have XML feed of status available, so we could create an applet/gadget to show users how many calls are waiting, who's on calls etc.

Routing a new DID to pbxes 23.07.2007 16:50 Forum: Miscellaneous

Hiya,

I'm sure this should be simple, but I need to setup some DIDs to be recognised by our pbxes account.

Would directing them to sip:gadgets@pbxes.org be correct? Do I need to setup any inbound routes up on pbxes to recognise it, or should the default accept it?

(I've tried the above using default, and it doesn't seem to work, but before I chase the DID provider I thought I should be sure that I have setup correctly here!

Thanks in advance,

Is there a way to show the call queue length (as opposed to call waiting) on these Linksys phones?

Call recording based on specific queue 10.07.2007 00:42 Forum: Feature Requests

Hiya,

Is it possible to specify recording all conversations based on them coming in on a specific queue, rather than just all calls on a specific extension.

Specifically, we'll have two users whose extensions will respond to specific departments or direct dial numbers and I don't want to have these calls recorded automatically. But if either of those same users receive a call from say a "customer services" queue, I want the ability to record those calls automatically.

Thanks in advance

Recommendation for handset? 09.07.2007 23:03 Forum: Terminal Equipment

Hiya,

If you were to recommend a handset that worked well with pbxes, and didn't have a lot of extra features that weren't needed, would you have a recommendation?

We are about to purchase a few handsets to use on our new pbxes setup. Am I right in thinking that, as we intend to route all calls through pbxes outbound and inbound, then we do not need to worry about the handset having capability for multiple lines etc?

From what I can tell, other than a screen for CLI, and some programmable buttons for extensions and pbxes commands, most other features wouldnt be used?

It would be nice to be able to tell from each handset if there were many calls in the queue that they are logged onto, I'm not sure if this is possible though? I read another thread that the Grandstream with BLF setup could show calls waiting, but I think this is just with callwaiting setup rather than with a call queue?

Thanks in advance,

Jules
