RE: BUG: Ringall strategy with classic extensions 18.02.2013 14:45 Forum: Queues, Digital Receptionist, Faxmail, Voicemail and Ring Groups

I have same problem:
Moving office for a few months so incoming calls need to be forwarded to several classical extensions at the same time (mostly mobile phones).

NOTE
I found more info here

http://www1.pbxes.com/forum/thread.php?t...1293645026&sid=

But the solution discussed does not work for me.
Only when I have one classical extension in a ring group, the calling party gets ringback tone.

I solved it before by setting a ring group with external numbers (followed by #) AND including in the ring group a dummy SIP extension " that really rings" ie that is registered in ATA hardware. But thats not easy and requires hardware.

If the moderator would have a better solution I would really appreciate to hear.

SIP provider without username and password 01.09.2011 23:02 Forum: Providers

Hi

I have a sip provider that has no registration in the trunk by username and password and the fields should remain empty.

Question 1: can I create a trunk to them without username and password?

In order to secure the trunk, the SIP provider would like to know what IP address will be used.

Question 2: what is the IP address for pbxes? Should I look up and give them the ip address for pbxes.org or pbxes.com or www3.pbxes.com ?

RE: Using digital receptionist to get to conferences 05.06.2011 19:55 Forum: Queues, Digital Receptionist, Faxmail, Voicemail and Ring Groups

I think I found an alternative, correct me if I am wrong.

Instead of using a classical extension to get into the conference call, one can also use a Ring Group with a single conference room as destination followed by a #.

Eg.

Ring group 4:
8xxx#

Where 8xxx is the conference room.

This way you save (the hassle) of setting up/ wasting an extension if you have a limited number of them.

Cannot add recording in System Recordings 02.06.2011 08:45 Forum: Queues, Digital Receptionist, Faxmail, Voicemail and Ring Groups

It is hard to believe but appears not to work correctly.

I have various sound files to be uploaded:
a. wav - 8000 Samples for second, Mono, 16-Bit (verified with Audacity).
b. gsm
c. mp3

This does not work for me
1. Goto Add Recording under System Recordings
2. BROWSE to the file to be uploaded, click Upload.
3. Click OK to confirm and wait for page reload
4. I get the message Successfully uploaded.
5. But I do not see a name of the file that was uploaded.

I have tried with Chrome, Firefox and IE9.

It must be me that is doing something wrong?

RE: don't know why my free account was blocked 01.06.2011 15:21 Forum: Miscellaneous

I may have during testing, although it should of course not be at the same time. I saw that a trunk may remain active for about 1 hour even when removed.

I am porting some numbers to VOIP, so I used what I had to test the accounts. I have gone over the accounts and now all trunks should be seperated.

Paid accounts:
1. I bought SOHO for one account (for myself), but decided I did not want to publish on the forum using my full name, so I cancelled that one after one payment.
2. I bought SOHO for another account (for myself) and that one is now loaded and in use.
3. I set up one account last week for a friend who was traveling in the USA and he was very happy with the service on BRIA (iphone). He may also want to upgrade to SOHO due to Google Voice capability.
4. I set up another account this week for another friend who will be traveling tomorrow to the USA also with BRIA. I have also started verification on my paypal for his account as he currently had no paypal himself. This is also for SOHO due to the Google Voice convenience.
5. I set up 2 more accounts for 2 family members, they will remain non-paid accounts, but are low volume users.

As you can see, I may inadvertently be in conflict with your policy, so please let me know if I can continue to administer their accounts for them. Some people may enjoy the service but have no real knowledge to set it up.

I do not intend to abuse your system or disobey the policy.

I like your service very much.

A) Just a note: A particular problem that I had when setting up ring groups that include an extension (it may happen) that does not exist. Then the whole ring group will fail to answer the call. Hence my extensive testing in the past days.

B) When setting up IVR, I would like to upload a file I used in the past from my Asterisk system. Is there a way to do this?

I opened several accounts since I found your fantastic service last week. But each of them is for family and friends and will be used seperately.

Despite their account being registered at a different email address (theirs!), they too got a message that their account will be removed if not upgraded.

How do I avoid that their accounts will be disabled?

RE: Sub PBXes 31.05.2011 15:00 Forum: News

I have connected my Fritz!box 7390 as a subpbx, and I can use an extension on the Fritz!box to call an extension or an outside line on the hosted platform.

I do not know how extensions on the hosted platform can call one or more extensions on the Fritz!box.

The difficulty is that the extensions on the FB start with ** (eg. **620) and this does not work. I can also not call a group of extensions at the same time.

I tried with prefix *# as suggested by diafora in previous posts, but no success.

Perhaps you have experience with this?
Is there another way to be able to call to extensions on the Fritz!box?
How do I create a group of extensions?

thanks

Rene
