RE: Google Voice Peering 20.03.2012 04:01 Forum: News

google voice calling is not working for me. i've tried using csipsimple and sipdroid on an android phone. with both i get a message "your call cannot be completed as dialed, please try again later." the "system log" seems to contain some error messages. it doesn't seem to matter what number i try calling. i've tried using two outbound google trunks (one a gmail account and the other a google apps account). i've tried deleting and re-creating the trunks, routes, and extensions.

i've noticed that outbound calls via google voice trunks always drop
after about 1 hour. i've seen this same behavior using two different GV
outbound trunks and with two different SIP clients (sipdroid on android
and cisco SPA-3102). looking at the "call monitor" logs i see outbound
call times like 00:59:53, 00:59:57, 00:54:05, 00:59:54, 00:59:41. i've
verified that these drops don't happen when using GV directly via
callbacks initiated from the GV website.

so outbound calls via gv trunks work now, but i've made calls with two
different sip clients (spa-3102 and sipdroid+android) and with both
clients the line is totally quiet while the phone that i'm calling is
ringing. i was expecting to hear a ringing noise on the sip client when
the phone that i'm calling is ringing. is this silence expected?

thanks

so i tried outbound calls again this evening and it's still failing for
me. i get the same error messages as before, except the "Oooh, format
changed" message has disappeared. I tried two different outbound gv
trunks (one was a gmail.com account and the other was a google apps
account), i tried deleting and re-adding the trunks, and i tried
selecting "Personal Data" -> "Submit & Restart". still no luck.

can't make outbound calls via google voice trunks anymore 02.12.2010 18:43 Forum: Bugs

So yesterday i setup a pbxes.com account with two google voice trunks,
and using sipdroid as a client i could make outbound calls via either of
the GV trunks (let's call the GV trunks A and B). Then later in the day
i setup more extensions and configured different extensions to use
different outbound trunks. At that point i discovered that i could no
longer create outbound connections via one of the GV trunks. (So GV
trunk B stopped working for outbound calls, but GV trunk A continued to
work. Also, both trunks worked for inbound calls.) I tried deleting and
re-adding: the GV trunk, the outbound route, and assorted extensions. I
also tried selecting "Personal Data" -> "Submit & Restart". Late last
night I tried adding a third GV trunk (let's call it C) and i discovered
i couldn't make outbound calls via that trunk either, but i still could
make outbound calls via GV trunk A. Now this morning i've discovered
that i can't make outbound calls via any of the GV trunks A, B, or C.
(But i can still get inbound calls on any of these trunks.)

Outbound calls via any of the GV trunks seem to fail the same way. On
my sipdroid handset, sipdroid says the call is connected but i never
hear any ringing and whatever i say into the handset is echoed back to
me (just as if i called the echo test extension, *43).

Here's the "System Log" entries that get generated for any of these GV
trunks when i try to place an outbound call (edited to remove personal
information):

Any advice on how to get outbound calls working again would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks

RE: Google Voice Peering 01.12.2010 23:45 Forum: News

hey all, i'm new to pbxes.com and i just setup a paid account so i could
use the google voice bridging.

So i setup two GV trunks in my pbxes.com account. One GV account is
Google Apps based and the other is an @gmail.com account. I'm using
sipdroid on android as a SIP client, and with that I can successfully
initiate outbound call through either GV account. But i can't seem to
get any inbound routing to work. For inbound routing, i have one
general rule which contains an empty trunk name and cid that should
accept all calls and forward it to my one extension, 000, which is the
extension that sipdroid logs into. Whenever i call either of the GV
numbers from a random phone, the calls never go through to sipdroid,
instead i just get a busy signal or a horribly corrupted busy signal.
But I know that pbxes.com is seeing the calls since they show up in Call
Monitor as:

Caller ID Number: <the number i called from>
Destination: 000
Trunk: Gtalk
Context: ext-local
App: Busy

I've tried deleting and recreating my trunks, outbound/inbound routes,
etc, tweaking assorted parameters, all to no avail. Any recommendations
on what i need to do to get these incoming calls routed to my sipdroid
client?

ps - @distinct - given that the GV bridge uses xmpp/jabber, if you're
trying to use GV with an apps account, you should make sure that your
apps domain has the proper xmpp/jabber DNS SRV records setup. for more
details see:

pps - i'm NOT having any problems with chat/friend request spam.
