documentation and questions

Hi

I have been looking into the new SugarCRM option, and this looks very promising...

However, we need some more documentation on your behalf. For example: How will PBXes keep track of calls made to and from contacts in this system? Where can I see those calls?

Also the email module is not working. I have filled in several outgoing mailservers I use, but everytime I try to compose an email the browserscreen goes blank and nothing will be sent.

Incoming mail cannot be configured. The system complains about an IMAP PHP module not being installed.

If this thing can work like I suppose it can, it will be a great addition to your allready good service...

call log

Thanks for the quick reply...

Email, both inbound and outbound is working now.
I noticed on my IMAP server that the system is using CRAM-MD5 for authentication. However when I select to use SSL the system generates an error. Whithout SSL it works?

Call log is still not working. I have made outbound calls by clicking on the phonenumber in contacts. The system rings my extension first and after pick-up connects with the remote party. I suppose that's the way it should work?
However, nothing appears in the activity module.

Furthermore, when I schedule a call I cannot not invite a person as the contact. When I select the 'add invitees' there's nothing happing (I suppose there should be a pop-up window with contacts as in other modules?)

Regards
Fred

Thanks

After a reset of the PBX, I get inbound calls in the activities.
Outbound is not showing up...

Add invitees is working now, but not with every browser. Firefox works, Opera not. (I,am on a Mac)

I noticed a possibele wrong relationship in the Projects Module. When in Detailview the subpanels below show tabs for 'marketing', 'sales', etc. When clicking on the tab 'Tasks' it shows Contacts instead of Tasks.

But I really start to like this stuff...

RE: documentation and questions

Please reset your PBX another time. We have fixed a bug in outbound call log.

I think your group tab 'Tasks' only shows contacts because there are no "tasks". What you want to see are "project tasks" listed under group tab 'Other'.

Thx

Outbound and incoming calls do work now, very cool feature that one can attach held calls onto projects or leads...

However, I have been using the Pro system for several day's now. A system like this can only work if one is using it all day. My work is mainly project based and with this I can track, plan and manage calls, notes and emails, and maintain all kind of relations between them. But, I noticed that the reaction times are sometimes very slow when using it extensively, and connection time-outs happening very often. This is annoying if one is on the phone and in the mean time wants to look-up or write down some information about the call. Is your server not able to handle it yet? or is it the PHP modules that's known for not being the fastest for this type of intensive online work?

Please don't understand me wrong. I,am currently testing this because I would like to use this system for my company...

Fred

Fragezeichen RE: documentation and questions

What kind of connection timeouts are you experiencing? What error message do you get?

Posted by fredvasse on 10.05.2007 at 10:29:

Connection time-outs when clicking on a button and nothing happens. Firefox displays an error after a few seconds that it can't connect to the website at that moment. After a second click the connection is made...

RE: documentation and questions

I have moved your account to our site in Frankfurt where the Internet connection is totally different. Does this solve the connection problems? If this is the case your voice connections will also be better now!

Posted by fredvasse on 13.05.2007 at 15:28:

No, it's much worse now!

The site is barely usable now. Half the time the images will even not load and almost after every click on a link the browser is complaining about connection time-outs. So, please move it back...

Last week on your other server i have tested ping timings. average was around 175 ms.

On this new location www0.pbxes.com, the ping times are the same but browsing is much, much worse... What creates the difference?

I have a medium fast ADSL connection with a max. downstream of 4000 Kbits/per second and upstream of 1000 Kbits per second. When I use the speedtest of my provider I have an effective downstream of 3401 Kbit.

All other connections are fast:

www.xs4all.nl (my provider) ping average 14 ms
www. wikipedia.com ping average 14 ms
www.google.com ping average 18 ms
Testing my internet connection to some other (Germany based) sites.
www.voipbuster.com ping average 22 ms
www.sipgate.de ping average 23 ms
www.voipstunt.com ping average 26 ms
www.nokia.de ping average 18 ms

Somehow the reaction times of your server are quite slow?

Fred

RE: documentation and questions

OK, moved your account back to Nürnberg.

I think your ping tests to our server gave you a false result. You probably pinged our San Diego site. Go to "Personal Data" to see on which server you actually are.

These are the results when we ping the last hop to your router (which cannot be pinged itself):

Thanks for moving back my account, that's much better...

About the server: In personal data it says: www3 (Nürnberg).
when I traceroute this server it seems to be in Germany.

The IP 194.109.7.22 that you pinged is not my network, allthough it seem to be part of XS4all when I perform a lookup...
My network is on 82.94.11.73

Thanks for the quick reaction!
