Setting up an Outgoing route

Hello:

I'm a newbie to the PBX application - it looks very interesting. Thought I would give it a try.

So far I've set-up an extension, trunk and outbound route. I've proved the extension (100) by doing the echo test *43 - so far so good.

Next, I'm trying to make an outgoing call using the trunk I've just setup. In this test I've used a SIP number I have at voiptalk.org. The result I get is the call attempt times out with a call unavailable message - I'm trying to call another SIP number with the same provider.

The SIP account I've used register's as being online with the VSP - As I would expect. It seems that the extension is not selecting the outgoing trunk even though I have set-up the outbound route.

What else should I check for? Or what could I have missed out in my basic set up?

Jonathan

RE: Setting up an Outgoing route

In your outbound route leave the extension field empty. The "x" you put there limits your route to extensions of a single digit (like 1, 2 or 3 but not 100).

I did that., and also tried to put the extension number (100) in outbound route extension field.

There must be something else that I have left out in my configuration. Any other ideas?

Thanks

Jonathan
