subpbx vs trunk //queue

Hi! I have outbound routing set up to a mobile phone via GSM gateway. The call is of course established using a sub-PBX. Outbound calls work as expected.

Unfortunately, when I connect a mobile number (one of the extensions) as an agent in a queue, the entire queue behaves like a ring group — meaning no IVR, no queue announcement, etc. The caller from outside hears only a ringback tone (like in a ring group).

As soon as I switch the outbound trunk to a SIP trunk, everything works properly.

An example of such a call: 2025-05-28 20:12:20
(there are three rows/entries for that call).

What can I do so that the extension routed through the sub-PBX still rings, but the queue holds the incoming call and behaves like a proper queue?

If this can be checked right away, I’d really appreciate it, as I can’t leave the current configuration active during business hours. If it’s not possible to retrieve everything from the logs, please let me know and I’ll prepare a test environment — or alternatively, feel free to use the extension labeled “-g505orange-” which is connected via the sub-PBX for testing purposes.

Sounds like your GSM gateway already connects the call (as if the called party already answered the call) while it is only ringing.

Therefore please check the settings of your GSM gateway. Maybe you can choose whether it answers the call before the called party picks up.

Otherwise you could use the FollowMe feature in extensions to solve the issue.
