IP address authentication

Some really good SIP providers support IP address authentication only. Is it have some ways to use it with PBXes?

RE: IP address authentication

There is a way, but you really don't want to use it frivolously.

In essence, if they only support IP authentication without prefix, just the PBXes IP, please be a good samaritan and let us know who these ITSPs are, after you have authorized one of PBXes' IPs through your account with that ITSP.

We will gladly send all our traffic towards that ITSP's SIP Proxy, and you will end up paying for our calls. We wish to thank you in advance for your kindness.

However, if these ITSPs allow you to send a prefix as well, this will act as a safeguard by uniquely identifying your phone calls, to that ITSP's SIP Proxy. PBXes uses static IPs for all its' servers, but all PBXes accounts share the same IP.

So if you really want to use these ITSPs, ensure they can support a prefix, and guard it with your life.
