Cant delete vm messages

I cant delete 1 new and 1 old message in an extensions vm box.
I press 7 to delete and hear the "message deleted" prompt. But when I log in again the messages are still there.

I've tried deleting the extension, submit changes then recreating the extension and the messages are still there!

Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you
