Something is wrong with the fake ring while forwarding to the next destination. It is playing a horrible digital screeching sound instead of the soothing brrrrrnnng. or the MOH.

White noise appears in Google Voice when a US ringback tone should be heard. When changing country to "de" in Source >> indications.conf ringback sounds OK, but it's the European tone then.

It never ends. It has nothing to do with the language setting.

It is intermittent.

Reboot sometimes solves it for two rings. but still 8 out of 10 are FAIL.

Why does this keep happening? I am helpless.

i-p-tel is there a way to avoid the screeching sound other than changing the default country? As a SOHO account holder, am I allowed to edit the indications.conf or could you please do it for me - either to de or uk, depending on which one is closer to the US ringback tone? Thank you!

Same issues here. Soho account and can''t edit anything. A real fix for the US tone would be great, but could you change mine to DE or UK as well? Thanks

Source >> indications.conf is now editable for all. Please find out if changing to "de" or "uk" is a reliable solution. We will then make this set automatically if Google Voice trunks are being used.

Seems to have solved the problem. I'm using the Italian (IT) tone, as that's where I'll be living for the next few years. Maybe you could have a drop down box somewhere to select the country parameter rather than leaving the .conf open. Anyway, thanks for the support in fixing this issue... quick, professional, and complete. Keep up the good work and I'll be a customer here for a long time! I'll post an update if there are any issues after more testing. Thanks!
