several major problem

Starting around 12.00 people calling me on mu dutch budgetphone number were very difficult to understand. It looked like a very heavy compression and I could not understand them.

I restarted through the control panel but this did not work.
I changed from server www1 to www3 and this did not make a difference.

When registered directly on my fritzbox hardware i did not have any problems.

I did notice that when directly connected to my fritzbox codec G711u is selected.
When I receive a call through pbxes on budgetphone it G726-32 codec is selected. don't know if this is part of the problem.

Now I also have yet another problem. I have 2 belgium numbers through 3starsnet. I can call the and when answered the line is dropped to give a bust tone.
To check if this was not a pbxes problem I disconnected the line from pbxes and registered directly on my home fritzbox here.
When calling the line than I could answer and was connected no dropping of the call.

Here I also see that codec 726-32 is selected on 3startsnet incoming calls.

On my german did sipgate through pbxes it's answered as G711.

I deleted inbound routed, added it again, changed ring group did not make and difference.

conclusion somewhere pbxes is dropping the line when being answered.

I am still having problems with budgetphone numers call quality through pbxes and 3 startsnet belgium lines can't connect through pbxes

can this be some codec error in your settings

update 18.00 having changed nothing else everything now seems to work again. Still this is very strange and I have no clue what happend. As written above I tried different things and problem was pbxes but it's gone now.

RE: several major problem

It is certainly confusing when intermittent issues take place, since it is quite hard to figure out what is going on. What I have found especially useful in these cases is capturing the entries of a specific call in the System Log.

The specific issue you mentioned seems like a vocoder incompatibility issue, and changing the mix of UAs in the path of the call seemed to have cure it. Looking at the System Log entries, might give us an idea of what actually happened.

In general, I tend to use the G.729 vocoder (MOS 3.7) in pass-through mode for all my calls, falling back to the G.711 vocoder (MOS 4.3) if I have to. I tend to avoid any flavor of the G.726 vocoders as inefficient for the bandwidth they require, vis a vis the 3.8 MOS of the G.729-32.

RE: several major problem

Problem is back, bad voice connecting.

When doing a check in my fritzbox incoming call is set to G726-32
Outgoing call through frtizbox takes G711 and work perfect. Outgoing calls through pbxes all take G726-32 bad sound.

Just tried again to register a trunk that gives bad sound direct in my fritzbox. Call the trunk through another voip line and codec used is G711. When going through pbxes it seems to select G726-32

Problem foundbut not solved.

My fritzbox for whatever reason connect to pbxes only using the G726-32 codec instead of G711.

When using the fritzbox without pbxes G711 is selected.
'
some more tests.

I was on www1 went this afternoon to www3
now I checked and went to www4, restet my fritzbox and a miracle outgoing and imcoming is G711 again.
Tried to change back to www1 which is not possible from www4 so did www3. reset the fritzbox so phone would reconnect fresh and wow g711 is back.
I have reset my fritzbox several time while connected to www3 without result.

all in all this is getting very strange and I have no idea why this is happening, changing from 1 to another server do reset to ahrdware than back. Strange very strnage. but more than thak time consuming

But now back onm www3 the problem with belgium number is there again call, pickup and disconnect.

RE: several major problem

Which vocoders does the SIP Proxy of your dutch BudgetPhone number, support natively?

RE: several major problem

Yesterday the codec priorities were set incorrectly. Changing any settings, and pressing the red bar, should have reverted back to the correct settings.
