South African server

Is there any plans to place a server in South Africa?

RE: South African server

Are there any S.A. hosting providers with non exorbitant hosting plans, in Telkom SA's land?

RE: South African server

Yes. Africa INX will be completely free from the Telkom SA monopoly when launching their hosting in March this year.

RE: South African server

I doubt it, since they will have to buy their international transit circuits from Telkom SA, unless they have their own submarine cable landing point.

Keep us posted though, when they introduce their hosting services.

RE: South African server

SA's second submarine cable arrived late last year and it is not controlled by Telkom, we can only hope that they won't join the monopoly.
Will keep you posted.

Amen.

What is the name of the new cable you are referring to, or where is its' landing point?
