Strange incoming call issue
Hi,
An odd problem that hopefully someone may have seen before.
Incoming DID (Sipgate) caller has normal ringing tone, the target homeworker extension (SPA1001) gets callerID and ringing. When I pick up the call I get silence and the caller continues with ringing tone. The call eventually goes to voice mail. Outgoing calls are no problem at all.
If I physically move the Sip UA to a different location (my home, same cable ISP) it works ok. I have tried different hardware, ports, DIDs and extension numbers. The only difference I can see is that the homeworker already has an ISP supplied domestic cable phone. Really scratching my head over this one !

RE: Strange incoming call issue
Hey Ron,
The SPA-1001 supports two SIP Registrations. Which ports have you assigned on it for SIP? I am quite sure there is a port conflict with the signaling ports, between the SPA-1001 and the "cable phone".
Try to change the SIP port of the SPA-1001 to a value other than 5060, which most probably is being used by the "phone over cable" CPE on the same LAN.
RE: Strange incoming call issue
Hi Diafora,
Sorted now, thanks for the pointer.
Moved sip port to 5070, fixed the SPA IP in the router, rebooted and calls now pick up perfectly.
A further intermittent problem then cropped up with the (new but cheap) cordless phones audible ring, despite trying all voltage/frequency settings in the SPA. Replaced with an older different make of phone which works perfectly.
Regards
Ron
