Mobile option on ext setup disappeared

In order to allow use of all codecs - particularly G729, you have to make sure that the mobile option on each extension is unchecked. I have just converted one of our extensions to use G729 and find on pbxes that the mobile check box has disappeared. So I cannot make or receive calls on this extension.

How do I make the extension work on G729 without unticking this "mobile" option? Previously the extension had the option ticked.

The mobile option is now disabled by default. So you can disable it for existing extensions by just re-saving them.

Historically the mobile option was needed for early Nokia handsets that could not handle codecs other than G.711.

Then the only use of the "mobile options" was disabling G.729 on some extensions for those who generally activated it on their accounts.

As this can be accomplished on the terminal devices itself it's not needed on PBXes. Even on Nokia handsets there is a tool available now to select the codecs to be used.

So we removed the option to make the configuration of mobile extensions more clear.
