cisco call manager express call problem

Hello I have a problem with entering and proceeding calls. I register mine sip-ua well on pbxes.org but I cannot accept and send a call. I cisco tac informs that it is connected with that that cisco not support alphanumeric ID's, whether there is a way to bypass it?

RE: cisco call manager express call problem

Here is a question concerning your Cisco phone, assuming it is flashed with the SIP firmware image, and not the Skinny (Call Manager) protocol.

What version of firmware is your phone running, because there is a known incompatibility with the random RTP ports used by the later Cisco IP phones' firmware in connection with Asterisk.

The explanation provided by Cisco's TAC has nothing to do with the issue you are facing. If it did, your Cisco IP phone wouldn't actually register with PBXes and it wouldn't ring on an inbound call. From what you are describing, when you pickup the phone to talk no voice can be heard or transmitted through the phone, which indicates an RTP issue not a signaling issue.

RE: cisco call manager express call problem

Hello Diafora, Thanks for a prompt reply.
Probably I was not exact in the problem description:
I have product cisco call manager express (it is a product similar with callmanger).
Topology:
pbxes.org-------internet-----cisco 2811 router + cisco call manager express (sip-ua)

Product cme have sip-ua for work with sip operator. I use product Voxalot and I have no problems. pbxes gives more interesting service therefore I require you.

The version tac cisco about a problem:
"The alphanumeric on Cisco platforms are not supported yet:

1. Because dial-peers on the IOS GWs require digital numbers, you can not configured dial-peer with alphanumeric numbers (there is an exceptions say some letters are possible to configure, but not all)

Therefore - router will not able to route the incoming calls with URI that has names in it.

Only numbers are accepted.

2. As to outgoing calls - yes you can use the sip profiles to change names to numbers.

But not for incoming calls.

But it still may not work with some providers.

---------------
The trick is - to register the GW with the NUMBER, not the name.
So then calls will come to it - SIP provider will send NUMBER in request URI.
For that you will need to change field: "contact" in the request registration message.
But that again will require some support from provider.
Not every provider accepts that.

So actually you need to use profiles - to force registration with the number

- so you will force the incoming calls also come with numbers.

As to outgoing calls - I guess we just can not send them with the names, as we can not dial only digits from IP phones.
"

How much it about you?

Whether I wish to know also you support cisco call manager?
