Downgrade from Premium to SOHO
Hi - I just downgraded from Premium to SoHo (since I don't use too many minutes) and since then I can hardly connect to my trunks or even to internal extensions.
The trunks that sometimes do connect, drop the call after 8-10 minutes.
Can someone please check or give any guidance?
Thanks.
Call timeout issue
A couple of questions which would help in determining the issue:
• Was this trunk issue evident before the before the change from Premium to SoHo?
• Is the issue only applicable on calls from extension to trunk, or on extension to extension calls too?
• What kind if SIP User Agents (soft-phones, ATAs, IP-phones) are you using?
RE: Downgrade from Premium to SOHO
Hi Diafora,
The issue exists between extensions at times but more so from extension to trunk. All my trunks are SIP trunks.
Sometimes I get a busy tone but its actually ringing - I know this for sure because I was calling my own cell phone.
I am using a PAP2 V1 as the User-Agent and some Grandstream 286 ATAs as extensions. There are no soft phones used.
This trunk issue did not exist earlier - only noticed when I switched over the account type.
Your help wlll be much appreciated.
Thanks
Call timeout issue
Let's concentrate first at solving the extension to extension call timeout issue.
Is the issue evident between all extensions, or is it more pronounced between some of the extensions? In other words, do calls between the US based extensions fail as often as with calls to the ones based in India?
Also, are there any extensions located on the same network segment? (i.e. on the same LAN).
RE: Downgrade from Premium to SOHO
Thanks for your reply.
The extn to extn fails at times for both US and India extens. Sometimes it connects, at times I get the "exten is on the phone" message when that's not the case. At times, it just gives a fast busy tone.
There is only 1 extn per LAN.
RE: Downgrade from Premium to SOHO
That is indeed very strange.
Is there any other VoIP equipment from other providers, in the LANs where the extensions are located?
Have you tried a "Submit & Start" from the Personal Data section of your PBXes account?
RE: Downgrade from Premium to SOHO
Diafora - Nope no other ATAs from any other providers on the individual networks.
I did a Submit &Start....it seems to be a lot better now so let's see how it holds.
Thanks for your help thus far.
