My ISP blocks Ports 5060-5061 Any Suggestions?

I am on a cable internet service behind a wireless router and using a PAP2 device.

I an't register and after a port scan discovered that 5060-5061 are both blocked by my ISP.

I am using the folowing settings:

SIP: 217.195.32.11
Proxy: pbxes.org

Can anyone help? The same PAP2 works elsewhere on another ISP with no blocks. I also use a grandstream-286 and stuck at the same.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I have 6 other ATAs running fine across the world (my family's spread all across)- except for this one.

Try alternate ports as described in DOCS >> Getting Started.

Based solely on what you described so far, I believe your ISP is not only blocking ports, but is also blocking traffic patterns based on DPI (Deep Packet Inspection).

Do they offer a competing VoIP service?
Do they forbid the use of VoIP in their TOS or AUP ?

Based on the answers to the above questions, you might have a couple of alternatives, but you need these answers first.

RE: My ISP blocks Ports 5060-5061 Any Suggestions?

Hi Diafora,

I did a Port scan and found that the only open port was 110 (POP3) - everything else is blocked by this ISP.

They do not offer a competing VoIP service and neither do they forbid it.

When I checked with them, they said I should avail of a static IP from them (for additional fee) and only then I could get VoIP to work.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

In essence you are asking for the port 110 to be included in the list of the available ports. Even if it is added, I doubt it would help in your situation, so my advise is to start thinking about getting a static IP or changing ISPs.

Thank you - I will be changing ISPs.
