Betamax SMSDISCOUNT not working
So far I used a voipcheap account without any problem. The SMSdiscount service from Betamax is much cheaper and signed up. see www.smsdiscount.com
The smsdiscount service works fine directly from my Gigaset sip phone but when I try the service over my pbxes.org account I get the message "all circuits are busy now ........"
The log shows:
22:47:53 VERBOSE[22943] chan_sip.c: SIP response 100 to standard invite
Aug 30 22:47:53 VERBOSE[22943] logger.c: -- Got SIP response 503 "For wholesale traffic, check http://www.voicetrading.com"
Aug 30 22:47:53 VERBOSE[2922] logger.c: -- SIP/SMS_DISCOUNT-42e2 is circuit-busy
Aug 30 22:47:53 VERBOSE[2922] chan_sip.c: Hangup call SIP/SMS_DISCOUNT-42e2, SIP callid 5e597196398010df7c1a3b3c30976f29@sip.smsdiscount.com
Aug 30 22:47:53 VERBOSE[2922] logger.c: == Everyone is busy/congested at this time (1:0/1/0)
RE: Betamax SMSDISCOUNT not working
Ohhh, this is great. A customized "Take a hike" message right in the 503 SIP response. Very clever indeed.
I guess they only want retail clients with unique IPs on SMSdiscount similar to their LowRate service.
RE: Betamax SMSDISCOUNT not working
Maybe a future option for pbxes could be to have your own dedicated ip.
Don't know if this is possible but like webhosting you pay 1 to 3 euro per month for a dedicated ip address. Would something like this be possible at pbx or is it technically to difficult.
If possiblie it might solve problems like this.
RE: Betamax SMSDISCOUNT not working
That is a good idea, but completely unfeasible on the current IPv4 network. With 18.527 accounts across all servers, an IP per account would raise the burden on the servers considerably, not to mention the cost of the Class Cs.
If and when IPv6 becomes widely available, we could revisit this suggestion, but until then Betamax has ways to distinguish their users, albeit clearly choose not to.
A look at the following thread will convince you: What is the Deal With Betamax -- Are they Still Blocking us?
