Fragezeichen Request new DID - how does it work?

Hi

I just noticed that you have a "request new DID number" under the trunk menu. I've looked but couldn't find anything that explained / documented this.

Are these free DID that we can request in the countries listed that we can use as inbound numbers to our PBXes account?

Is there a limit on the number of countries we can request DID's in and the number of DID's?

Thanks

After submitting the form you get a quotation for numbers in the desired country. Then you may choose an area code to subscribe to.

So how are these numbers connected to the PBX, i.e. do we have to set up a trunk for them and if so can we have different numbers come in on different trunks?

Who is managing the numbers? I assume you are just reselling them? I am just concerned on the robustness of them and the reliability for using them as inbound numbers for our company.

We've been burned before where we have had a range of numbers suddenly got deleted without warning only with a message from the provider saying that they have been replaced by a different range. That really messed us up as stationary had to be changed, no body could reach us as no diverts were possible from the deleted numbers. I don't want to go through something like that again. böse

Thanks

You don't need to setup trunks for the DIDs. The calls come in as SIP URI i.e. you may create inbound routes if you want to select special destinations for the numbers.

I hope you will not experience that kind of trouble again. Which provider have you been working with? We are reselling DIDs of the market leader for worldwide DIDs. At least we could not find a better one.

Thanks. I don't remember the supplier as it was 5 years ago. It was a company offering local numbers, non geographic local call numbers and free phone numbers in the UK who would then divert those numbers to any PSTN phone in the world free of charge most of the time or at very low cost. I don't it had anything to do with voip then.

I just looked for a DID in Portugal but none are listed. does that mean you cannot provide any DIDs in Portugal?

I would like a number in the Algarve province so they should begin with 282 or 289. Is that possible and at what cost?

Also, is there a minimum term (contract period) for the number?

Thanks.

Daumen hoch! RE: RE: Request new DID - how does it work?

I fixed the problem. However, in Portugal we can only offer Setubal (265).
