Shared lines (residential)

There was a discussion here a bit ago about shared lines for office use: http://www1.pbxes.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=1694&sid=

I use PBXes for home use though. If I call my family, I can only talk to one at a time, despite them having three extensions in their house.

It would be great to have a "dedicated conference bridge group" option which would automatically place certain extensions into a conference just by picking up the phone.

Benefit: Phones could function like normal house phones and we could all talk at the same time without manually setting up a conference call.

What's the verdict on your ends?

If you like to experiment with such conferences you can start with the German discussion http://www1.pbxes.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=210.

Glad to see there is some sort of discussion still going on about this. I tried to translate the thread on Google Translate but it returns a pbxes error page. Is there another way to be able to read it?

Try to copy and paste the block of text of the thread, directly into the text field to be translated.
