Trunk registered but can't call
I have a trunk-sipb01.owtalk.com- which gets registered but I can't make calls. I can make calls if I use a softphone and register direct with the SIP server. How can I get around the provider "blocking" my calls through pbxes.com?
Does the provider of the trunk requires you to use a specific (branded) softphone?
Can you make a call, if you provision the credentials of the trunk directly on an ATA?
I have identified the problem. They only support G729. The softphone I use has G729 but pbxes still does not support it. I am still waiting for pbxes to support G729.
RE: Trunk registered but can't call
PBXes supports G.729 in passthru mode i.e. if your extension on the PBX supports G.729 you can dial out to the provider with G.729.
